Obituary of Mary Shara

Mary Shara January 21, 2015 Mary Shara, 98, of Luzerne passed away on Wednesday at Golden Living Center, Plains Twp. Born in Luzerne, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Christina Luzetsky Lazar. Prior to her retirement she was a machine operator for Leslie Fay and Cohen & Fine. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. She was preceded in death by infant brother Nicholas; brothers, Michael, Peter, John, George, Steve Lazar; sisters, Margaret Levitsky, Irene Thomas and Anna Yatsko. She is survived by a sister Helen Brdaric of Luzerne, plus many nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call on Saturday from 8:30 – 9:30 am at the funeral home.
