Obituary of Dorothy M. Baines

Dorothy M. Baines February 29, 2016 Dorothy M. Baines, 103 of Luzerne, passed away on Monday at Golden Living Center, Plains Twp. A life resident of Luzerne, Dorothy was born May 30th 1912, daughter of the late John and Anna Rosnick Bigger. Prior to her retirement she was a machine operator at Duplin Mill, Kingston. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Ladies Auxiliary of Luzerne Volunteer Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 283, Kingston. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Cyril Baines; brothers, Bernard, John Jr., Gerald Bigger and sister, Anna Baines. Surviving are niece, Margaret Marek, Sweet Valley; nephew John R. Bigger III, Dallas; great-nephew Mr. & Mrs. David Kachmarsky, Mr. & Mrs. John Bigger IV; great-nieces, Damar Kachmarsky, Dorothy (Dodie) Kachmarsky, Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Warnagiris and eleven great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held on Friday at 9:30 am from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. Interment will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
