Obituary of Leonard Urban

Leonard Urban April 21, 2016 Leonard Urban, 91, of Swoyersville passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Meadows Nursing Home, Dallas, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Kingston on February 7, 1925, he was the son of the late Joseph and Eva Stasalis Urbanovich. He was a graduate of Luzerne High School, he was United State Navy Veteran of World War II. Prior to his retirement Leonard was a traffic manager at Craft Associates and also at Lion Brewery of Wilkes-Barre. He is a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by his wife the former Mary (Shirley) Dorish; also by sisters, Adele Anzo, Eleanor Kleppinger, Anna White, Rita Krzywicki; brothers, Edward, Henry, Victor, Joseph and Jerome. Leonard is survived by a daughter Elizabeth Davis and husband Harleth, Dallas; grandchildren, Rebecca Agostine and her husband Jim, Jersey City, New Jersey; grandson, James of Dallas; numerous nieces and nephews. Leonard's greatest devotion was it his wife, Shirley and family, especially to his grandchildren, Rebecca and James. He was passionate about sports, especially golf. One of Leonard's greatest thrills was having the opportunity to play in the B. C. Open Pro-Am Tournament in September of 1987 with golf pro Andrew Magee. Funeral will be held on Monday at 9:30 am from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with Rev. Joseph Elston officiating. Interment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Lehman. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 8:30 – 9:30 am.
