Obituary of Ronald J. Reilly

Ronald James Reilly Sr., 63, of Lu zerne, died suddenly on Wednesday at the General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. Born and raised in Pringle, he was a son of the late Edward and Sadie Hankey-Reilly. He attended Larksville High School and later joined the US. Marine Corps as a Reservist. Reilly moved to Luzeme, where he later became the co-owner of Andy Perugino's Restaurant with his wife, the former Andrea Perugino. For the past 45 years, he devoted his life to the family business, where he was a permanent fixture in the kitchen and behind the bar. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and many patrons. Reilly was also an amateur boxer and remained a lifelong fan of the sport. Reilly was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Reilly; and sister Rita Reilly-Johns. Reilly is survived by his wife of 41 years, Andrea Perugino-Reilly; mother-in-law Phyllis Perugino; sons Ronald Jr. and fiance Lesa Shusta, and son, Zachary, of Swoyersville; Andrew, of Luzerne; daughter Jessica King and husband Aaron, of Shavertown; grandchildren Briana and Adriana Reilly, of Luzerne; sister Jean Gashi and husband David, of West Wyoming; numerous nieces, nephews and his faithful companion, the family dog, Effie. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:30am from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home Inc., 568 Bennett St., Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
