Obituary of MaryAnn Yatsko

MaryAnn Yatsko, 60, of Harding passed away early Sunday morning, Aug. 23, 2009, at Hospice Community Care, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Kingston on Jan. 24, 1949, she was the daughter of Anna Rovnak Olexa of Luzerne and the late John Olexa. She was a graduate of Luzerne High School, Wyoming Seminary Business School and attended Misericordia University. Prior to her illness, she was employed as a legal secretary by Attorney Mark Pelak of Wilkes-Barre. MaryAnn was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer, Harding. Preceding her in death in addition to her father was a brother, John S. Olexa. Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Robert J., at home; son Robert J. Jr. and his wife, Carla, Harding; daughter, Susan Balint and her husband, Sean, Exeter; and grandchildren; Abigail, Alyvia and Robert J. Yatsko III; brother, Thomas Olexa and his wife, Victoria, Kingston; uncle, Michael Rovnak and his wife, Mary, Aliquippa; aunts, Mary Montini and her husband Joseph, Aliquippa; and Margaret (Marge) Galzarano and her husband, Domi-nick, Aliquippa; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Murphy and her husband, Michael, Forty Fort; Dorothy MacDonald and her husband, Lawrence, Plains Township; Catherine Charnitski, Swoyersville; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, 568 Bennett St., Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Redeemer, Harding. Interment will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville Friends may call Tuesday 6 to 9 p.m at the funeral home.
