Obituary of Marian S. Zurinski

Marian S. Zurinski June 29, 2012 Marian S. Zurinski of Harveys Lake and snow bird in Sarasota, FL., passed away on Friday at Mercy Center, Dallas. Born in Wilkes-Barre on April 26, 1936, daughter of the late Stephen and Marian Werchinski Maceiko, She graduated from Hanover High School and College Misericordia, with a degree in Secondary Education. She was a school teacher for 35 years at Netcong, NJ and Hanover Area, PA. She taught English, Spanish, Latin and was a Basketball Coach. She had a winter home in Sarasota Florida and enjoyed spending time there with her dog muffin and called herself a "Snow Bird". She enjoyed knitting and various craft projects. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters Kathryn and Kimberly. She also enjoyed shopping and was an avid bingo player. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank W. Zurinski in Sept. 26, 2008. Surviving is daughter Debbie and husband David Jones of Riverview, Florida; son Mark and wife Alana of Clarks Summit; daughter Judy Zurinski of Erie: granddaughters Kathryn and Kimberly Zurinski: brother Stephen Maceiko and wife Bonnie of Cocoa Beach, Florida: also nieces, nephews and her beloved dog Muffin. Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:15 AM from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Victory, Harveys Lake. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 7PM to 9PM.
