Obituary of Dorothy L. Krochmaluk

Dorothy L. Krochmaluk October 27, 2013 Dorothy L. Krochmaluk, 89, of Swoyersville departed this world Sunday evening at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Born in Larksville, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Wargo Lechak. She was a graduate of Larksville High School and a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Church, Swoyersville. Prior to her retirement she worked hand in hand with her son's business at Wyoming Valley Landscaping and Masonry in Swoyersville and for twenty three years as office manager. Dorothy always had a kind word for everybody and every situation. She always saw the glass full, not even half full. She always took things in stride and had the attitude that things could be worse elsewhere, even when her health started to fail. If you had ever had the opportunity to meet her, you couldn't help but love her. The family business attained jobs, just by her very kindness over the phone with customers, in whom she catered to 24/7 even through the middle of the night with snow removal services. She was a loving wife and loved her children and especially her grandchildren, never missing a birthday or holiday for anybody who was family or friend with her cards and phone calls. Irreplaceable is not strong enough to express our loss of our mom. This world has lost a jewel of a person, but heaven has gained a precious, precious angle. God owes us nothing, to have had us blessed for such a long time with such a wonderful mom and role model, but we just wish it could have been forever. We will count down the days until we can hold her in our arms again. Her love and goodness will be carried on threw our heart forever. She was preceded in death by her husband John W. Krochmaluk; daughter Joan M. Nelson; brothers, John Lechak, George Lechak and sister Irene Celmer. She is survived by children, Dorothy Skibitski and husband Joseph of Sweet Valley, Shirley Davey of Texas, John J. Krochmaluk and wife Samantha of Kingston; grandchildren, Wendy, Joseph, Richard, Bradley, Mia, Dalton; great grandchild Jenna. Brothers, Carl Lechak of Virginia, David Lechak of Kingston, Dennis Lechak of California. Funeral will be held on Friday at 9:30 am from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with a Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am in St. Nicholas Byzantine Church, Swoyersville with Rev. Gary Mensinger officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming. Friends may call in Thursday from 6-9 pm at the funeral home. Parastas service will be held on Thursday at 7:30 PM.
