Obituary of Matthew Charles Jacien

Matthew Charles Jacien September 13, 2014 Matthew Charles Jacien, 30, of Tunkhannock passed away on Saturday at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Plains Twp. after an auto accident on Sept. 11 in North Moreland Twp. In accordance with Matthew's often expressed wishes, several of his organs were donated through the Gift of Life Donation Program. The lives of three waiting recipients received his donated organs and there are others that will benefit by his generous donations. Matthew is a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School. Matthew is survived by his father Myron Jacien and stepmother Julia Evans of West Pittston; mother Thomasine Evans Conway and stepfather Jim Fulkerson of Tunkhannock; daughters, Shealynn and Kaylynn McCroskey; Paternal grandparents, Charles "Jake" and Anne Bayo Jacien of Swoyersville; brother, Marc Jacien of Forty Fort, sister Morgann Jacien of Wyalusing; sister Emily Jacien of West Pittston; also Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins. Matthew is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Thomas & Harriett Evans of Port Blanchard. Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 16 at 5:00 PM in Cherry Street Bible Church, Plymouth, with Pastor James officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday at the church from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. The family of Matthew would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Geisinger Wyoming Valley ICU for their compassion and care toward Matthew in his last hours.
