Obituary of John J. Centak

John J. Centak April 12, 2016 John J. Centak, 61, of Courtdale passed away on Tuesday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he is the son of Cecilia Bondoch Centak and the late Joseph Centak. He was a graduate of Coughlin High School and Misericordia University, where he received a degree in Occupational Therapy. He worked at the White Haven State Center and the V.A. Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. He love fishing and spending time camping in Laceyville with his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by so many who knew him. He is survived by his wife the former Rose Soroka; sons, John Centak, Jr and wife Erica, Mountain Top; Matthew Centak and companion Corinne Cortino, Courtdale; grandchildren, Macie Elizabeth, Isla Rose, Maddox John Centak. Sister, Yvonne Masakowski and husband Danny, Connecticut; brothers, David Centak and wife Mary, Plains; Joseph Centak and wife Judy, Hanover Twp., and his beagle Lacey. Funeral will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6-9 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donation can be made to Blue Chip, Dallas.
