Obituary of Marcella Wroblewski

Marcella Wroblewski, 98, was born April 7, 1911 in Pringle to the late Walter and Marianna Kwaitkowski Yaglowski. She has been a resident of Manor Care Nursing Facility since her stroke in May of 2009. The family would like to thank the staff for their loving care of Marcella. She also lived in Plains, East End Blvd and Dagobert St. Wilkes-Barre before settling at Courtright St. Pringle. As a young woman before marriage, she worked at the Empire Silk Mill. After marriage she raised her children and later on went to work for the Diocese of Scranton as a laundress at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church on South Washington St. Wilkes- Barre. She worked there for 30 years until she was 75 years old. She retired to gardening, knitting, crocheting, traveling with her husband Charles and babysitting grandchildren. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish, Luzerne; the Girl Scouts of America board with her husband and also the West Side Flower Club. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, good friend and neighbor to many throughout her life. According to Wyoming Valley Historical Society, Marcella is the oldest resident of Pringle Boro. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years Charles, her sister Hedwig Gunshore, and brother Adam Yaglowski. Marcella and her husband Charles raised three children: Charles R. Wroblewski of Havelock, NC; Walter V. Wroblewski of Pringle; Marcella Vinovrski of Fresno, CA. Brother Walter Yaglowski of Fargo, FL. Grandchildren Christopher Wroblewski of SC; Julie Conniff of VA; Michael Wroblewski of SC; Walter J. Wroblewski of PA; Cheryl Hilstolsky of PA; Michelle Tomas of OH; Martin Vinovrski of AZ; Todd Vinovrski MD of RI; Scott Vinovrski of PA and also eleven great grandchildren. Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 AM from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
