Obituary of Sarah E. Zurinski

Sarah E. Zurinski Jan. 21, 2012 Sarah E. Zurinski 99, formally of Luzerne passed away in her sleep on Saturday at Manor Care, Kingston. Born in Windber, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Zilma Redpath Platt. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish Luzerne. Prior to her retirement she was a house keeper for many different family of the area. She volunteered at the VA Hospital, Plains Twp. A former member of St. Ann's Altar and Rosary Society and the Marine Core Woman's Auxiliary, Kingston. Sarah was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband John C. Zurinski, February 1974 and sons Martin Yanchunis, Francis Yanchunis and Daniel Yanchunis. She is survived by daughters Rita Kolp of Harveys Lake, Orba June Vincent of Louisiana and son Louis Yanchunis of California. Fifteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; sister, Virginia Taylor of California and brother, Robert O'Rourke of Carlisle, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Lehman. There will be no viewing. Family and friend are asked to go directly to church. Family would like to send a heart filled thanks to the staff of Manor Care and hospice.
