Obituary of Richard M. Uter

Richard M. Uter, 81 of Kingston passed away on Monday at the General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Luzerne, he was the son of the late Michael and Katherine Paluski Uter. He was a graduate of Luzerne High School and the National Institute of Cleaning & Dyeing, of Silver Springs, Maryland. Prior to his retirement he was co owner of Uter Cleaners for 60 years with his brother Michael. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne and 3rd Degree Member of Knights of Columbus, Council 3987, Luzerne. Richard loved sports, especially Penn State football; cooking; traveling, he loved going to the Poconos. Richard is survived by his wife of 55 years the former Connie Disanferdinando. Sons, Michael John and wife Beverly of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Richard Jr., and wife Alice of Drums; grandson, Andrew John Uter; brother Michael Uter and wife Rose of Luzerne; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Funeral will be on Friday at 9:30 AM from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Annunciation Cemetery, Pringle. Friends may call on Thursday from 5 - 8 PM.
