George A. Krall, 93 of Luzerne passed away on Saturday at Hospice Community Care, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Port Griffith, son of the late George and Sidonia Columbus Krall, he was a graduate of Jenkins Twp. High School. He was a Sergeant in United States Army during World War II in the 318th Air Service Squadron. While in the service he was the coach for Fora Volley Ball Team which won the African Volley Ball Championship. Prior to his retirement he was a guard at State Correctional Institution in Chase. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne; Past President of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Holy Name Society, 26 Men Club, St. Johns - Konefal's bowling league in Luzerne and St. Conrad's bowling league in Wilkes-Barre.
He was preceded in death by sister Anna Barker; brothers, Stephen, Michael, John and David Krall.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Mary Radage; daughters, Elaine Rahl and husband Norbert of Parma, Ohio; Kathleen Harris and husband Donald of Philadelphia; son, George D. Krall and wife Laura of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Jeffrey Rahl, Alison Rahl, Amber Harris; great grandchildren, Edison and Theodore Rahl and a sister, Emily Loughney of Port Griffith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating, interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter. Friends are asked to go directly to church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne. In lieu of flowers memorial donation can be made to Hospice Community Care 25 Church St. Wilkes-Barre, PA 18765.
