Obituary of Doris M. Tonkin

Doris M. Tonkin September 30, 2013 Doris M. Tonkin, 77, of Luzerne passed away on Monday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Luzerne, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Franklin Grady. Prior to her retirement she was a sewing machine operator at master garment company in Kingston.. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. She loved her grandchildren and bingo. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Tonkin, Sr.; brothers, George Grady and Leo Grady; sisters, Joan Tonkin and Elizabeth Amos Surviving are her children Albert Tonkin, Jr., Dorothy Tonkin, Thomas Tonkin, Richard Tonkin all of Luzerne. Grandchildren, Zachary Tonkin, Noah Tonkin, Ashley Tonkin; sister, Anna Mae Sundquiest of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her dogs, Joey, Tinker, Bear, Angel and many nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:30 am from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6-9 pm.
