Obituary of John Jastremski

John Jastremski October 4, 2013 John Jastremski, 82, of West Wyoming passed away on Friday Oct. 4 at Special Care Hospital, Nanticoke. Born in Plains he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Bronowicz Jastremski. Jackie, as his family knew him had a degree in Industrial Electricity from Penn State. He was a Sargent in the United States Army during the Korean War. Most of his life he worked for Stegmaier and then later, Lion Brewery of Wilkes-Barre. He was the late of his family, preceded in death by brothers, Jake Jastremski, Joseph Jastremski and Frank Jastrem; sisters, Helen Jastremski, Loretta Michael, Catherine Kalkun, Leona Bishie and Justine Koprevich. Surviving are nieces, Michelle Kalkun, Doris Jastremski, Marci Potorski; nephews, Thomas Koprevich, Robert Jastremski, John Jastrem, Thomas, Jastrem, Joseph Jastremski, Mark Jastremski. Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 am from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. With a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 am until time of Mass.
