Obituary of Rose Kurent

Rose M. Kurent June 19, 2014 Rose M. Kurent, 65, of Luzerne passed away at the Celtic Healthcare, Hospice in-patient unit south Wilkes-Barre surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. John and the rest of his family would like to thank Geisinger and Celtic Healthcare for their professional and compassionate service. Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late George and Gladys Parry Gabel. She was a graduate of Dallas High School and prior to her retirement she was employed by Humphreys Apparel in Dallas. She was very involved in the LCP Little League. Rose enjoyed taking her grandchildren to Disney, Long Beach Island, Knoebel's and cooking for her family. She is survived by her husband John; sons, John (Jack) Kurent of Luzerne; Scott Kurent and wife Patricia of Dallas and Mark Kurent and wife Mary of Luzerne; grandchildren, Brittney, Nicole, Jenna, Juliana, Scott, Jr. Brother, Robert Gabel of Clark Summit; sisters, Linda Yorkonis of Plymouth and Sharon Gabel of Huston, TX. There will be no service or viewing for Rose. Arrangement are entrusted to the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne.
