William Ziminski, 89, of Chase Manor, Shavertown passed away on Thursday June 26, 2014 at home.
Born in Pringle, he was the son of the late William and Stella Bienick Ziminski. He was a graduate of Pringle High School, United States Navy Veteran of World War II. Until retirement he was an owner and mechanic at Bill's Garage in Luzerne, along with his two brothers. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved his yard and vegetable garden.
He was preceded in death by sister, Gloria Balavage and brother, Henry (Hank) Ziminski
He is survived by his brother Michael Ziminski and his wife Mary; sister-in-law Margaret Ziminski and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 am from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Entombment will Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call on Monday from 5-8pm.
