Obituary of Margaret Matulevich

Margaret Matulevich, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and fiend, passed away on February 4, 2011. Margaret's 89 years of life were embodied by her faith and compassion for others and her gentle and caring spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Born in Luzerne she was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna Konopka, Rynkiewicz. She was a graduate of Pringle High School, prior to her retirement she was a self-employed hair dresser at Sylvester's Hair Solon, Somerset, New Jersey. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was preceded in death by husband Sylvester in Aug. 29, 2001 and brothers, Frank, Walter, Joseph and granddaughter Michelle Edwards. Surviving are children, James of East Brunswick, New Jersey; Mariann Lee of Houston, Texas; William of Pringle; Walter of New Brunswick, New Jersey; Thomas of Edison, New Jersey; Robert of Laureldale, New Jersey. Grand children, Amy Matulevich, Michael Matulevich, Michael Jack Hatches, Lynn Hatches; great grandchildren, Justin Lee, Maddox Weintraub; step-grandchildren, Charles Lee Jr., Lisette Prieto; step-great grandchildren, Charles Felix Lee, Andres Prieto, Jr., and Elizabeth Prieto. Funeral will be held on Monday at 9:30 AM from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Lehman. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 PM. Condolences can be sent to sympathy@betzjastremski.com
