Obituary of Lurene Dobias

Lurene Dobias October 14, 2014 Lurene Dobias, 80, of Luzerne passed away on Tuesday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Plains Twp. with her family at her side. Born in Swoyersville, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Stella Fronczkiewicz Oliphant. She was a member of the Luzerne United Methodist. Lurene worshiped her three grandchildren and attended every school event, athletic event and most favorably every basketball game that she could. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dobias Sr. in 1998 and son John Dobias Jr. in 1996. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Dobias Gimble and her husband Randy of Larksville; grandchildren Lurena Gimble, Larissa Gimble, Jonathan Dobias Gimble all of Larksville. Sisters, Barbara Knell of Courtdale; Sheila Casey and husband Russell of Swoyersville; Sandra Martin and husband Tony of Swoyersville; brother, Willard Oliphant and wife Sharon of Kingston. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with Pastor Carol Coleman officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Slovak Cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
