Obituary of Marilyn L. Jones

Marilyn L. Jones Febuary 7, 2015 Surrounded by her loving family, Marilyn L. Jones passed away at home on Saturday, February 7, 2015. A resident of Harveys Lake, formerly of Edwardsville and Plymouth, Marilyn was born on April 5, 1931, daughter of the late Marian and Albert B. Llewellyn. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School and Edgewood Park College, New York. Marilyn was the beloved wife of Hugh Jones IV, together they owned and operated the Hugh Jones Funeral Home in Edwardsville for more than 40 years. She devoted her life to her family, her faith, and consoling families in their time of grief. Marilyn was a lifelong member of the congregation and choir of the Dr. Edwards Memorial Congregational Church in Edwardsville. She also attended the attended Evans Falls Methodist Church. The joy of Marilyn's life was spending time with her family at Harveys Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Hugh Jones IV; daughter, Virgina K. Nahas; brother, Albert J. Llewellyn; and sister, Virgina Roan. Surviving are daughter, Janet Jones Rosenbaum of Shavertown; son, Hugh Jones V, of Harveys Lake; son-in-law, Dr. George H. Nahas of Kingston; grandchildren, Stacy Kovalycsik and husband Nick, Leslie K. Rosenbaum, Herbert G. Nahas, Marilyn A. Nahas; and great-granddaughter, Lucy R. Kovalycsik. A private funeral will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, 568 Bennett St., Luzerne. Interment will be in Perrego Cemetery, Harveys Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, C/O Attorney John Moses, 120 S.
