Obituary of Marie Geraldine Macey

Marie Geraldine Macey February 12, 2015 Marie Geraldine Macey of Luzerne passed away on Thursday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born Nov. 14, 1928 in Swoyersville to the late Elizabeth Humonosky Adamchick. She attended a local Catholic School, was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. Marie was an avid reader and also enjoyed music, specifically polkas and her favorite Irish Singer Daniel O'Donnell. She was very rounded in her personality and had vast knowledge of a myriad of subjects, including her favorite show on Fox, Bill O'Reilly. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph on June 21, 2008 and a brother Daniel Adamchick and grandson Francis Joseph Macey. She is survived by son Joseph, Jr. and wife Mary Frances of Weatherly; daughter, Jean Macey and companion Len Drury of Duryea. Grandchildren, Cynthia Macey, Alyssa Macey and Christine Macey Blain; sister, Joan Neher of Hunlock Creek; brothers, Frank Adamchick of Northampton and Jerome Adamchick of Warren, Mich., also several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held on Monday at 9:30 am from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call on Sunday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
