Obituary of Rita Ann Martin

Rita Ann Martin March 7, 2015 Rita Ann Martin, passed away on Saturday, March 7 at Celtic Healthcare in-patient unit, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Plains Twp., daughter of the late Edward and Florence Najak Healey. She was a graduate of Plains High School and attended Wilkes-Barre Business College. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. She loved her family and her lady friends from the Luzerne High Rise. She was an avid reader and loved bingo. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward L. Martin and brother, Robert Healey. She is survived by daughters, Maureen Pennington and husband Mike of Ohio, Kerry Zawadski and husband John of Luzerne; sons, Edward III and wife Cheryl of Sweet Valley, James Martin and Mary Rose Salvo of Pittston; grandchildren, Alesha and Maranda Martin; brother, Joseph Healey and wife Lorraine of Laflin. Family and friends will meet 9:00 am on Thursday in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne for visitation with the family and then a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. The Martin family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre and Celtic Healthcare.
