Obituary of John Thomas Kelly

John (Jack) Thomas Kelly, Sr. March 8, 2015 John (Jack) Kelly, Sr., 81, of Pringle passed away at Hershey Medical Center on Sunday morning, March 8, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Plymouth and was the son of Raymond Kelly and Rose Dombroski. John was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was the recipient of a Purple Heart and was ranked Corporal. He was previously employed by Raves Nursery and Green Valley Garden and Landscaping. John was also a greeter at Sam's Club in Wilkes-Barre for 20 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all. He will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brother Raymond Kelly of Las Vegas, NV. John is survived by his loving wife the former Florence Sundy; son, John, Jr., and his wife Kathleen; daughter Patricia Ann and her husband Michael LoGrande; brother James of Hazleton; grandchildren, Christine, John, Kellie and Michael; great grandchildren, Alexis, Jessica, Daniel, Noah, Laila and Juliana; also his mother-in-law Mary Sundy. Friends may call from 5-8 pm on Thursday, March 12 at the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne. The funeral will be held 9:30 am from the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am, on Friday, March 13 at Holy Family Parish with Father Michael Zipay officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Holy Family Parish Food Pantry, Rear 574 Bennett St. Luzerne.
