Obituary of Mary Urban

Mary Urban July 23, 2015 Mary (Shirley) Urban, 90, of Swoyersville passed away on Thursday at the Highland Manor, Swoyersville, with her family next to her. Born in Swoyersville, she was the daughter of the late Fritz and Anna Dorish. Graduate of Swoyersville high school, prior to her retirement she was employed at General cigar in Kingston, She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, was a past member of it's the Altar & Rosary Society. She was preceded in death by sister, Anna Fey; brothers, William, Harry (Fritz) and John Dorish. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Leonard; daughter Elizabeth Davis and husband Harleth of Dallas; grandchildren Rebecca Agostine and husband Jim of Jersey City, N.J., James Davis of Dallas; numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was a devout catholic, who was truly devoted to the Blessed Mother and St. Ann. She prayed the rosary and her novenas daily, prior to becoming ill. Mary loved cooking, baking and gardening. She will be fondly remembered by her family for the outstanding ethnic dishes she loved to prepare. Mary was the sweetest, kindest, loving and most generous lady. I love you mom. We love you nana. We will cherish our precious memories of you until we meet again. Funeral will be held on Monday July 27 at 9;30 am form the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10;00 am in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Lehman. Family and friends are well to attend the service at the funeral home from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.
