Joseph Zera, 77, of Forty Fort passed away suddenly on Saturday at home.
Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary Stoshick Zera. He was a graduate of Luzerne High School. Was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Prior to his retirement he worked as a postal clerk in Dallas and before that at Western Union, New York City.
He was preceded in death by brother, Edward Zera.
Surviving is his longtime companion Sharon Hindmarsh; beloved dog Chipper; brother Leonard Zera and wife Sue, Luzerne. Also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne, with Deacon Peter Smith officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Dallas. To leave a message of condolence for her family, please visit betzjastremski.com.
