Obituary of Peter J. Ross

Peter J. Ross June 28, 2017 Peter J. Ross, 80, of Luzerne, passed away on Wednesday at home. Born in Luzerne, he was the son of the late Peter and Anna Zagarsky Ross. Peter graduated from Luzerne High School, class of 1956. While there he played on the football and basketball teams, of which he proudly boasted was the most winningest basketball team ever. Peter proudly served in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne with an honorable discharge in 1962. Prior to his retirement in 2014, he was employed by James C. Thomas & son as a truck driver for over forty years. He was a member of Teamsters Union. He is survived by son Jason Hart and wife Mary; grandson Dylan Hart and brother, William Ross, and family. "Life is made up of many coming and going and for everything that we take with us, we must leave something behind" Herman Raucher Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne, with Rev. James Quinn officiating. Interment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Lehman. Friends may call on Saturday at the funeral home from 9 – 10:00 am.
