Obituary of Albina S. Pope

Albina (Beanie) S. Pope August 29, 2017 Mrs. Albina (Beanie) S. Pope, 70, Luzerne passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Tuesday. A life resident of Luzerne, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Frances (Maxwell) Sincavage. She attended Luzerne schools. "Beanie" as she preferred to be called, was known and loved by many in her community. She was previously employed by Carter Footwear and Muskin Pools, but more widely known as the sole proprietor of Luzerne Pub "Beanie's Place" Her personality was larger than life. She was renowned for her cooking and famous for her pasties. She loved to laugh and make others laugh. Beanie's favorite sport was football, enjoying watching Sunday Football (for the "Numbers & Asses") at Fat Daddy's. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and Aunt. Preceding her in death was her son, Joseph Pope; grandson, Joshua and granddaughter Sarah. Surviving is her husband, Michael Pope, Sr.; sons: Michael Pope, Jr. and wife Mary, Luzerne; Brian Pope and wife Maryrose, Luzerne; daughter, Angel Pope, Luzerne; sisters, Rita Vohar, Shavertown, Rosie Fitser, Hanover Twp.; Jenny Evanoski, Luzerne; Toni Jaskolka, Swoyersville; brother, Thomas Sincavage, Luzerne. Eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Nanny will be loved and miss by all. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 pm with Pastor Vince O'Boyle officiating. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne.
