Obituary of Dorothy Mary Michael

Dorothy M. Michael November 29, 2017 Dorothy Mary Michael, 91, of Swoyersville passed away on Wednesday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Edwardsville, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Sabol Chacko. Prior to her retirement she was employed by American Silk Mill for 23 years as a machine operator. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, very active in her church and loved to crochet for her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her daughter and family. She was preceded in death by husband Peter Paul Michael; son, Robert J. Michael; brothers, Andrew and John Chacko and sister Florence Butcofski. She is survived by daughter Jean Marie Michael, at home; grandchildren, Robert Michael, Harding; Steven Michael Wyoming; Deborah Keller, Plymouth; great grandchildren, Christy, Brittney and Jonathan Michael. Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with Father Walter Jenkins officiating. Interment will be in St. John Nepomucene Cemetery, Courtdale. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6-9 pm.
