Obituary of Catherine A. Petty

Catherine A. Petty December 27, 2017 Catherine A. Petty, 80, of Swoyersville, passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Swoyersville, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Dzurek and Anna Smith (Smihura).She was a graduate of Swoyersville High School and prior to her retirement she worked as an aid in the Wyoming Valley West School District. Catherine was formally a devote parishioner of Holy Trinity Church and more recently St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville. She is survived by daughters, Joan Grozalis and husband Edward, Newtown PA, Colleen Trusavage and husband Robert, West Pittston PA, Jean Brunges and husband Floyd, Westfield MA; twin sons, Donald M. Petty and wife Donna, Valdosta, GA, Daniel Petty and wife Margaret, Mountain Top PA. Grandchildren, Bobby and Bradley Trusavage, Kate Brunges, David, Anthony and Andrea Petty and Liam and Stephen Petty and many nieces nephews. Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30am from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 pm., at the funeral home.
