Obituary of Bernadette Ziminski
Bernadette Ziminksi of Chase Manor, Shavertown passed away suddenly Friday morning at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
She was born in Plymouth on February 26, 1930, daughter of the late Ben and Frances Bonsavage Barzeloski. Bernadette was a graduate of Hanover High School and College Misericordia. She was employed by Wyoming Valley West School District and retired from teaching after 30 years in the district. She was an active member of St. Cecilia's and St. Anthony's Senior Center, Exeter and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
Bernadette was a very soft spoken, kind, and generous person who was always there for family and friends. She loved her church, had great faith and was deeply religious. She loved music and enjoyed playing the organ. She will be deeply missed by all.
She is survived by her husband William Ziminski. They celebrated 55 years of marriage September 3, 2010. Also surviving is her sister Mary (Marion) Flannery and husband Jack of Laflin; nephew Dr. David Flannery, wife Paula and nieces Nicole, Kaitlyn and Erin.
Funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 am from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 at the funeral home. Condolences can be sent to sympathy@betzjastremski.com
