Mary L. Grabarek, 93, of The Gardens at Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 14, 2018.
Mary was born in Luzerne on February 16, 1924, the daughter Albert and Elizabeth Wasnieska Grabarek. Ms. Grabarek was a graduate of Luzerne High School, class of 1942. She was employed by the Social Security Administration in Washington D. C. and also with the Commissioner's Office in Washington D. C. Ms. Grabarek was a member of the Resurrection of the Lord Polish National Church, Edwardsville.
Mary was preceded in death by brothers, Chester, Edward, Alexander Grabarek; sisters, Jennie Tilley and Bettie Grabarek.
Surviving are Wensell Grabarek and wife Marion, North Caroline; Wanda Ogurkis, Courtdale; Clara L. Kownacki, Arizona; sister-in-law Helen Grabarek; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 am at Resurrection of Our Lord Church, Edwardsville, with Rev. Lucian Urbaniak officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Lehman Twp. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 – 10:30 am. At the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Ms. Grabarek name to the Resurrection of the Lord PNCC 35 Zerby Ave. Edwardsville, PA 18704.
