Obituary of Irene Dorothy Sekera

Irene Dorothy Sekera July 4, 2018 Irene Dorothy Sekera, 96, of Luzerne, passed away on Wednesday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Born in Luzerne, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Bolonis Buzunis. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Sekera and son Daniel J. Sekera; brother, Joseph Buzunis; sisters, Albina Pakashus and Ann Evans. She is survived by her daughter Carol Sekera, Luzerne; grandson, Daniel W. Sekera, Luzerne and great grandchildren, Daniel J. and Stephany; sisters, Helen Stasko, Florida; Rita Bator and husband Edward, New Jersey; also several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with interment in St. Ann's Cemetery, Lehman. Arrangements were entrusted to the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Luzerne.
