Obituary of Bernadine Gurnari

Bernadine Gurnari August 22, 2018 Bernadine Gurnari, 77, of Kingston, passed away on Wednesday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Swoyersville, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Durkin Stranka Bernadine started working at the Nesbitt Hospital hospitality shop, then work for the Wyoming Valley West School direct as a crossing guard and last work at McDonalds in Luzerne. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne; Christian Mother's in Swoyersville; Ladies Auxiliary of Luzerne Volunteer Fire Department. She was preceded in death by husband Bruno Gurnari; son, William Gurnari; brothers, Joseph and Stephen Stranka and sister, Elizabeth Mizenko She is survived by daughter, Ann Haas and husband Dave, Tunkhannock; son, Stephen Gurnari, Kingston; grandson, David Haas, III; sisters Lillian Perrego, Edwardsville; Lucy Zedlock, Sayreville, New Jersey; brothers, Richard Stranka, Wilkes-Barre; Andrew Stranka, Huntington, New Jersey; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 am at the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with Rev. Walter Jenkins officiating. Interment will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Lehman. Friends may on Monday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
