Obituary of Eleanor Gorki

Eleanor Gorki, 90, of Luzerne passed away on Sunday at Hospice Community Care, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Luzerne she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Julia Retel Roschak. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a waitress at the American Legion in Luzerne and several other restaurants in the area. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. She was preceded in death by brothers, Edmund Roschak, Chester Roschak, Leon Roschak, Alexander Roschak, Alfred Roschak; sisters, Mary Stepanik, Sophie Stupich, Lillian Cline, Mildred Melton; grandchildren Brian and Brenda Gorki. She is survived by her husband Leon Gorki, sons, Nevin Gorki and wife June of Kingston; Ronald Gorki and wife Beverly of Plains; grandchildren, Nevin Jr., Christopher, Ryan; great grandchildren, Kylie, Jared, and Nevin James and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until time of service.
