Obituary of John R. Evans

John R. Evans, Jr. November 3, 2018 John R. Evans, Jr. 73, formally of West Pittston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, following an illness, at his home in West Wyoming. Born in Biloxi, Mississippi, he was the son of the late John R. Evans, Sr. and Mary Hunt Evans. Prior to his retirement he worked at Schott Optical in Duryea as a Refractory Mason. He is survived by his wife, Theresa (Alaimo) Evans. Daughters, Lorraine Byer, Philadelphia; Julia Jacien and husband Myron, West Wyoming; son, Roderick Evans, Lancaster. Grandchildren, Aidan, Andrew and Hailey Evans; Emily Jacien; Cameron Byer; and his sister Mary Ann Eckert, Philadelphia. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc.
