Obituary of Sophie Cicero

Sophie Cicero, 93, formally of Swoyersville passed away on Sunday at The Laurel's, Kingston. Born in Boston, MA, daughter of the late Frank and Anna Magno Shard. Graduated from West Pittston High School, prior to her retirement she was employed by Luzerne County Commissioners as a clerk. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Swoyersville. She was preceded in death by husband John J. Cicero; brothers, Michael Shard, Ralph Shard and sister, Marion McDermott. Sophie is survived by a daughter Jacqueline Cicero of Wilkes-Barre; sister, Carole MacDougall of Dallas and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. Arrangements by the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne.
