Obituary of Florence Stravinsky

Florence Stravinsky, 92 of Luzerne went to see God on Sunday June 26th. Florence lived in Luzerne her entire life until 2002 when she moved to the Meadows Nursing Home in Dallas. She graduated from Luzerne High School, worked at the Cigar Factory for several years and then became a beautician where she provided beauty services in her home. Florence never married and stayed home to help her mother after her father passed away. She was always the life of the party, playing Santa Clause for the children in Luzerne, throwing mock weddings at bridal showers, painting ceramics and crocheting afghans for everyone she knew. She was the Best Aunt to her niece and three nephews. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and its Altar and Rosary Society. Florence is preceded in death by her parents Peter and Susan Uter, Stravinsky; brothers, Albert, Benjamin, Anthony; sisters, Albina Bolsar and Mary Sternick. She is survived by brother, Joseph and wife Rose Marie of Dallas; nephews John Bolsar, Richard Bolsar, Benjamin Stravinsky; niece Susan Stravinsky Santayana and many great nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:30 AM from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Annunciation cemetery, Pringle. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 PM.
