Obituary of Eleanor Thorek

Eleanor Thorek of Luzerne passed away on Saturday at Hospice Community Care, Wilkes-Barre. Born at Lake Silkworth, daughter of the late Joseph and Anne Zailskas. She was a graduate of Lake Lehman High School, class of 1944. Prior to her retirement she had been employed by K-Mart for over twenty years. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael and son Jerome Thorek. Surviving are children Michael Thorek of Inkerman; Brian Thorek and wife Carla of Wyoming; Karen O'Hop and husband Gene of Kingston Twp.; David Thorek of Luzerne; Susan Kiwak and husband Chris of Harding. Grandchildren Caitlin Foster, Eric Thorek, Brain Thorek, Jr., Kelly O'Hop, Kayla Kiwak and Eli Sutton. Great grandchildren Samantha Thorek and Gabriel Thorek. Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with a Mass of Christine Burial at 9:30 AM in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bear Creek Twp. Friends may call on Tuesday from 7:00 AM until time of funeral.
