Obituary of Edward Michael Skrabut
Edward Michal Skrabut, 81, of Courtdale passed away on Saturday at Hospice Community Care, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Luzerne, he was the son of the late Michael and Stella Redmersky Skrabut. A graduate of Luzerne High School Class of 1946 and Lackawanna Junior College, he was an airman First Class in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict with a rank of RCT Tech. He received the Korean Service Medal with five stars. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed by the United State Postal Service 30 years with Foster Wheeler Corp in Mountain Top and Kingston Metal. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and past president of the Luzerne Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Madeline Falchek and brother, Raymond Skrabut.
Surviving is his daughter, Diane Beisel and husband Gary, of Wyoming; grandchildren, Jeffrey
Beisel of Shvertown, Rebecca Beisel of Port Tobacco, Md., and great-grandson, Patrick Beisel.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 10:30am at St. Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Arrangements are with Betz-Jastremski Fu8neral Home, 568 Bennett St., Luzerne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA or Hospice Community Care.
