Obituary of Leona Bishie

Leona Bishie, 85, of West Wyoming, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010, due to an auto accident. Born in Plains, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Bronowicz Jastremski. She was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School. Prior to her retirement, she was a sewing machine operator for several different dress factories in the area. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Bishie; three sisters, Helen Jastremski, Loretta Michael, Catherine Kalkun; and two brothers Anthony (Jake) Jastremski and Joseph Jastremski. Surviving is a sister, Justine Koprevich of Cheektowaga, NY and two brothers, Frank Jastrem of Plains Township and John Jastremski of West Wyoming. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Thursday at Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, 568 Bennett St., Luzerne with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with the Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call Thursday from 9am until the time of the service.
