Obituary of Nancy A. Barry

Nancy A. Barry, 52, of Luzerne, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at Thomas Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia. Born in Larksville, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Harriet Vanvuskirk Houssock. She was a graduate of Kingston High School, and prior to her retirement, she was the activities director at the Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre. Nancy loved her job, residents and employees of Heritage House. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dolores Norris. Surviving is her husband, Bernard A. Barry III; children, Shannon Chiverella and husband, Shane of Hanover Twp.; Leah Cool, of Wilkes-Barre, and Robert Cool and his fiance Channing Biggers, of Pittston; stepchildren, Bernard Barry IV and wife, Angel of Wilkes-Barre, and Jason Barry of Swoyersville; grandchildren, Jonathon Kennedy, Ashley Kennedy, Christyan Chiverella, Daniel Chiverella, Tyler Sauerwine, Julia Sauerwine, Braydon Rucker and Aiden Barry; brothers, Steve Houssock of Larksville, John Houssock of New Hampshire, and Danny Houssock of Maine; and a sister, Alice Kondratick of Bear Creek. Funeral services will be held at 10am Monday at Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, 568 Bennett St., Luzerne with the Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek.
