Obituary of Donald A. Frederick
Donald A. Frederick, Jr., 86, of Hanover Township, formerly of Wilkes-Barre passed away Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Plymouth, he was a son of the late Donald a. and Esther Lewis Frederick Sr.
He was a graduate of Plymouth High School, Bucknell Junior College, and Eckels School of Mortuary Science.
Don was a US Army veteran of World War II, serving as a Military Policeman.
He was the owner, operator of M.S. Frederick & Son Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre, and Frederick Fine Furniture, Plymouth.
Don was a member of the Firwood United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre; Plymouth Lodge 332 F&AM; Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg; Irem Shriners, Dallas; and the Royal Order of Jesters.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Irene Evans.
Surviving are his wife, the former Michele Gilbert; son, Donald A. Frederick III and wife, Linda, Harveys Lake; grandchildren, Alex Frederick and wife, Kelly, Harveys Lake, and Lauren Paszewski and husband, Todd, Shavertown; and great-grandchildren, Riley, Abby and Max.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday at the former M.S. Frederick & Son Funeral Home, 617 Carey Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Barbara Pease officiating. Interment will be in Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Trucksville. Friends may call on Thursday from 9 to 11am prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 63 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701. Arrangements are with Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Luzerne.
