Obituary of Dorothy E. Samuels

Dorothy Elizabeth Samuels, last residence West Wyoming, passed away on Tuesday at Wesley Village, after many years as an Alzheimer's victim. Born June 3, 1918 in Luzerne, the daughter of the late George and Anna Hutnik, Dorosky. Educated at St. John's Nepomucene School, Luzerne. A member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, and the I.L.G.W.U. Garment Workers and was employed in the Garment Industry for twenty five years. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert F. Samuels in 1998. Brothers George, John, Tom, Adam, Carl, Stephen (Joey), Justin; Sisters Mary, Vera and grandson Joseph Stash. Surviving is her son Robert Samuels, Jr. and wife Maryanne of West Wyoming, daughters Dorothy Stash and husband Larry of Shavertown, Carol Yezilski and husband Tom of Dallas, Judy Thomas and husband John of Morton, PA. Eleven grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brother William Dorosky of Mechanicsburg, Pa. Funeral will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:45 AM in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne with Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
