Obituary of Josephine Barney

Josephine Barney, 96, of Luzerne, passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at the Laurels at Wyoming Nursing Home. Josephine was born April 7, 1913, a daughter to the late Angelo and Ennrick Rossini Plaotti in Courtdale. She was preceded in death by husbands, Joseph DeZorzi and Ed-ward Barney. Josephine will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving woman who cared deeply for her family and friends. Josephine is survived by her daughter, Antoinette Galdon, and son-in-law, Jerry Galdon, of Kingston; her grandson, Christopher Galdon, his wife, Anne Galdon; and great-grandson, Kyle Galdon, of Charlotte, N.C.; sister, Mary Sundy, of Pringle; as well as nieces, Florence Kelly, Elaine Dzoch, Diane Correll and their families Her life will be celebrated with a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Luzerne. Interment will be in the Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service at the church.
