Obituary of Evelyn Cecconi

Evelyn Cecconi, 84, of Luzerne Towers, Luzerne passed away Friday, Nov 27, 2009, at The Meadows Nursing Home, Dallas. Born in Larksville, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Anna Lawson Ardoline. She was a graduate of Larksville High School, Class of 1943. She was a homemaker for most of her life, until the last 20 years before her retirement she was a teacher's aide for Wyoming Valley West. She was a member of Larksville United Methodist Church and an associate member of Luzerne United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Sr.; sisters, Dorothy Elias, June Chesney and Guida Menko. Surviving are children, Andrew Cecconi Jr. and wife, Rita, Dallas; David Cecconi and wife Ann, Kingston; Karen Prohonic, Luzerne; grandchildren, Donna Farrell and husband Mark, Dallas; A.J. Cecconi and wife, Stefanie, Center Valley; David Cecconi, Clark, N.J.; Matthew Cecconi, Kingston. She is also survived by four great-grandren, Michael, Jack and Nicholas Farrell and Gabriela Cecconi, all of whom affectionately called her Nona; sisters, Mary Zuba, Montrose; Leona Manganel la and husband, Richard, Luzerne; brothers, Ralph Ardoline and wife Anne, Wilkes-Barre; Charles Ardoline, Luzerne; Robert Ardoline and wife Kathy, Courtdale. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, 568 Bennett St., Luzerne, with the Rev. Carol Coleman, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call Monday 6 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
