Obituary of Peter P. Anania
Peter P. Anania, 72, of Kingston passed away Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Far Rockaway NY, Peter was the son of the late Alfred and Anna Perko Anania. He served in the Marines. Prior to his retirement, Peter was employed in steel construction in New York and was a member of Iron Workers Union Locals 361 and 40.
He was the beloved husband of his wife, Mona; the beloved father of his sons, Peter and his wife, Maureen, Scranton: Stephen and his wife, Kris, Wilmington, Del.; and daughter, Barbara Anania, Kingston. He was the beloved grandfather of Emily Clark Anania, Wilmington, Del. He was the dear brother of Rosalie LoPiccolo, Inwood, N.Y. He is also survived by many loving nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. Peter was loved by friends and neighbors and known to many simply as "Uncle Pete." The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. at Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, 568 Bennett St., Luzerne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church, Kingston, with the Rev. John Lapera officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
