Obituary of Anna D. Welki

Anna D. Welki, 98, of Pringle passed away Sunday Aug. 23, 2009, surrounded by her loving family at home. Born in Pringle, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Danko Welki. Anna graduated from Pringle High School and attended Wilkes-Barre Business School. For 42 years, she worked for Dr. Finklestein Jewelers of Luzerne and the last eight years before retiring was at Nesbitt Hospital in housekeeping. She was preceded in death by brothers, Andrew Welki and Stephen Welki; sisters, Mary Vehec and Elizabeth Lejda. Surviving are sisters, Veronica Sherin, Tunkhan-nock; Margaret Welki, at home; also nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home Inc., 568 Bennett St., Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Family Parish, Luzerne, with the Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Courtdale. Friends may call Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
