Obituary of Robert C. Runta

Robert C. Runta, 79, of Dallas passed away on Thursday at home. He was born in Luzerne, son of the late Joseph A. and Anna Yanulevitch Runta, Sr. He was formally of Nanticoke before moving to Dallas. He was a graduate of Luzerne High School, was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. Robert was a heavy machine operator for Ray Pisaneschi Construction of Swoyersville and later for Neal - Lynn Inc. of Luzerne. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harvey's Lake; American Legion, Post 672 of Dallas; Labor Union Local 215. Robert was an avid Penn State Fan. He was preceded in death by sisters, Celestine Runta, Ludwina Runta and brother, Joseph Runta, JR. Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years the former Arlene Irene Carver. Daughter Susan Krzysik, husband Joseph and daughter Emma of Dallas; son, Robert Runta, wife Nancy and their children Matthew and Rachel of Perkasie, PA.; also cousins. Funeral will be held on Monday at 9:15 AM from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Victory Church, Harvey's Lake with Rev.
