Henry Pugh, 87 of Luzerne passed away on Monday, January 16 at Hospice Community Care, Wilkes-Barre, with his daughter Donna and son in law Mark at his side.
Born in Edwardsville he was the son of the late Louis and Mary Owens Pugh. In his younger years he worked in the coal mines, then he went into the Navy during World War II and prior to his retirement he was an self employed contractor. He was a member of the American Legion Post 672, Dallas.
He was preceded in death by in infant daughter Mary Ellen and numerous brother and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years the former Genevieve Krasniak. Son Henry, Jr. of North Carolina; daughters, Linda Cook of Dallas, Dorothy Pencavage of Swoyersville and Donna Coolbaugh and husband Mark. Grandchildren, Kevin Will, Lynda Cook, Jennifer Cook, John Pencavage, Daniel Pencavage, Nichole Nighbert, Karen Herrscher, Mark Allen, Jr. Eight great grandchildren and a sister Jane Kritzberger of New Jersey and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home 568 Bennett St. Luzerne with Rev. Ron Baker officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-7 PM.
