Obituary of Margaret M. Shonk

Margaret M. Shonk March 15, 2019 Margaret M. Shonk, 90, of Shavertown, passed away on Friday at Celtic Healthcare, Wilkes-Barre after a short illness. Born in Luzerne, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Trudgen, Urban. She was a graduate of Luzerne High School. She had different odd jobs during her life time and later in life she was the Queen of La De Da. She was preceded in death by her husband Theodore Shonk, in 1994. She is survived by daughter Patricia Stearn Dugas, Rhode Island; son Ted Shonk and wife Tina, Swoyersville; grandchild Heather Shaw and husband Jim, Kingston. She was known as G-G to her great grandchildren, Joanna Renee and Kaylee Rose Shaw. Sister Marie Wasylkewicz, Luzerne and many nieces, nephews and friends in Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc. 568 Bennett St. Luzerne, with Rev. Carol Coleman officiating.
